This 8-chapter book, Basic Computing Concepts – All-in-One Beginner’s Guide to Computer Proficiency” 4th Edition is intended to offer beginners in computer technology a way to build solid foundation through grassroot learning techniques that will effectively empower them to become proficient in basic computing.

The book is intended to raise awareness to the problem of computer illiteracy in public high schools across United States, including 2-year and 4-year colleges, high school teachers, and adult professionals. This has been a lingering problem for many years now that education leaders may not have been aware of, but the it is a serious matter considering how far the world has come in technological advancements.

The book is a “Combo” people don’t have to buy one book to learn Computer Basics, another Microsoft Word book for beginners, MS Excel for beginners, and MS PowerPoint for beginners.  The book comes as All-in-One package with everything a new beginner needs to become computer proficient from beginner’s computer concepts to Microsoft Office beginner’s guide, including a bonus chapter on distance online learning which has become our new normal in today’s world necessitated  by the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

Contents of this book are proven techniques in computer system functionalities that have brought great success to my former students at Piedmont Technical College (PTC), Greenwood South Carolina 11 years ago. With current updates in today’s technology, I have used the teaching/learning techniques myself for many years, tested, taught new employees on my previous job as organizational policy writer and Microsoft Office application program trainer. I know that the teaching and learning techniques in this book are very effective. Therefore, I feel compelled to share this knowledge with the world, especially with new beginners as I watch them still struggling with computer literacy in this 22nd  century with all the technological advancements available to everyone.
